Review of The Behemoth by Seagullslost

Its an interesting one this, an historical - not always the most gripping for a sci fi fan as myself, but they can be quite informative and hold the attention.

The Doctor, Flip and Constance arrive in England in the 1700's and well... Spend some time there.

The thing is that there isn't so much as a single overarching plot in this audio. The emphasis of the story shifts in each episode, it starts off not really about anything- a dance with the guests awaiting on the Lady clara to arrive. Then there's an animal on the loose in the second, the abduction of Flip in the third. If you've listened to Time in Office, its in a similar vein. Same time, characters, place but more a series of connected events.

There is almost some romance for the Doctor, but much more like in the Aztecs rather than some of the newer TV episodes.

Other themes deal with the issue of slavery and the position of women in society, not quite at the forefront but are there.

On the whole I liked it. A refreshing change from the normal run arounds. I can understand why this might be a love or hate it scenario. As I said, the during first episode you do wonder when the plot is going to kick in, but then once you get the idea that this audio isn't following the usuall run of things then you can get onboard with it.
