Second, I just love Gabby! It’s so hard to create a unique and interesting new companion in what has become such a crowded market, but the way in which these comics allow you in Gabby’s brain unlocks new creative avenues. You get a sense of her thought patterns, how she develops in her understanding of the world of The Doctor.

The art gallery storyline is not revolutionary but it does hook you, but ultimately it’s the characters which turn this into something really quite special.
