People seemed to enjoy this audio, which is nice, but I found it absolutely miserable. By this point, we've heard and experienced quite a bit of the Vulpreen so far, and I have to say from what I've gotten out of this box set, this might be one of, if not the absolute, worst of any Doctor Who recurring alien villain. They come across as just generic bad guys with a vague werewolf flair.
At least here, Kate gets to know one a little better as a captive of the Vulpreen here in Ten Minutes in Hell. This part of the story has some value - at one point I did find Kate and the Vulpreen's reluctant partnership as fellow prisoners moving in a single scene, but otherwise it and the entire audio just felt like more of the same. The same kind of content I've seen a hundred times before in everything from Stargate to Star Trek. UNIT: Nemesis has been a bit of a mixed bag for me so far, but this one is by far the worst one I've encountered to date.
It doesn't help that none of the actors other than Jemma Redgrave seem really into this. I don't know what's up but Ingrid Oliver's performance as Osgood seems so off in these UNIT audios. It's like all the life has been sucked out of her character.
