I'll start with the negative: this plot is much more basic than you'd expect, and the complicating twist that Suzie had engineered the situation felt a bit tacked on. That out the way and the score being more a vibe than anything, I can state how much I loved this story. Blon is an absolute highlight of the incredible Doctor Who series 1, and they absolutely nail her pairing with a member of Cardiff's resident scooby doo team by drawing in on 3 fundamental common traits: their detachment, their cunning and above all their desperation. By highlighting these and letting the chaos draw out the darkly comic as Blon’s original stories sought to do, the story feels character-driven and joyous.
