This was a perfect series opener. Great characters with interesting back stories and the colony setting with a hyper-capitalist social structure makes you root (pun intended) for the lower class characters.

The horror elements echo the Alien and Prometheus universe in the best way, they have a slow build up so it doesn't feel cheap and the seeding (yeah that too) of the conspiracy with the governor is so compelling.

Plus the final appearance, although predictable, made this episode perfect from start to finish. I mean it, I felt like every line of the dialogue mattered and my mind didn't wander off at all (which is a great compliment!)
