Review of Suburban Hell by thedefinitearticle63

This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order.

Previous Story: Death Match

A solid, timey-wimey story.

I think this series suffers so far from being quite bland, so this is a nice change of pace. The Doctor and Leela end up at a dinner party in an old, mysterious house that falls under attack from blue people. The Doctor gets sent back into the house's past and meets the blue people again. The juxtaposition of events in the past next to events in the present and how they affect each other makes for reallly engaging storytelling and sets up a great twist.

My only gripes are that I think the ending is a bit rushed, the blue people are defeated very suddenly and the characters, especially the Doctor and Leela, feel quite basically written although this might be because it's coming off the back of a fairly character-driven two parter.

Next Story: The Cloisters of Terror
