This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order.

Previous Story: Planet of the Rani

This is a fairly generic story but it coasts by on vibes and general atmosphere. The Vikings feel underdone in Doctor Who and while this isn't exactly a Viking story they play a pretty big role so that alone makes this story stand out a bit. I found the climate-change aspect of the story a bit underbaked, I'm not really sure what the "message" here was supposed to be.

Constance is much better here, I really enjoy Miranda Raison's performance. I like that we get to explore her motivations as a character a bit more, it was only really touched on in Criss-Cross but the idea of a companion who doesn't want to go back is a very compelling idea and one that I find a lot more interesting. I'm hoping this is a sign of things to come.
