This book was a very breezy read that I thought characterized Clara and the Doctor quite well. However...not much really happens. They show up to a quasi-medieval setting with advanced technology (classic), and...just kind of hang out for a bit as the kingdom of Varduz eventually gets swallowed by a conquering army. For supposedly book one of the Glamour Chronicles, all we see are these knights led by Lancelot who then it turns out he's the Glamour sure. Also a lot is unnecessarily written in first person by the perspective of one of the court nobles. This book didn't work for me, but at least it's a quick read.
