Review of Ripper’s Curse by 15thDoctor

This review contains spoilers!

Despite the unpleasant watercolour-style artwork in Part One – which shifts to a more visually appealing (if slightly immature) style in Parts Two and Three – this remains a solid story that slots neatly into Series 5, offering satisfying extra glimpse of the Doctor, Amy, and Rory’s dynamic. The exploration of the Jack the Ripper case is engaging, sparking my curiosity in the real historical events.

Where the story falters is in its alien antagonists, which feel disappointingly generic. The climax devolves into a clash of “green monsters”, undercutting the earlier intrigue of weaving history into the narrative. That said, the character work and historical grounding largely compensate. I had fun!
