Review of Planet of the Rani by thedefinitearticle63

Previous Story: Criss-Cross

Gosh the Rani really gets the worst luck huh? Is there even a genuinely good Rani story? So far they've only ranged from terrible to alright. Siobhan Redmond is again really great as the Rani and she plays off Colin Baker really well but that dynamic is not enough to keep this story afloat. This is Constance's second story (technically third released but who's counting?) and it hasn't done much to get me to care about her. I'm sure she'll get better but it's hard when you immediately have to deal with something like this.

The plot is quite dull, nothing clever or entertaining happens and I don't care for any of the characters. There was a bit of an interesting angle with the Rani technically being a mother but I don't think that was explored nearly as well as it could have been. Also knowing that this is her last story makes the ending being all "you haven't seen the last of me!" quite funny. Still, even despite to mediocre outings I'd love to see the Rani again but ideally in a more interesting adventure than this.
