The plot develops nicely, until we get a third of the way through, where it just stalls, and never quite fully restarts. Many chapters felt repetitive and derivative of the chapter before, with very little progressing through. The characterisation of the Doctor, Amy and Rory was ok, but the side characters still felt bland.

The Squall are presented in such an intriguing way, but defeated too readily, and in hindsight lose the threat and aura they had developed.

A bit of a let down.
