This story tries to do a lot of things. At one point, I thought I was listening to a murder mystery, or a family drama, or a horror play, or a psychological horror, but in the end, it turned out to be high-concept scifi. And lovely high-concept scifi too. I do think it still tries to do psychological horror, but sadly I zoned out for a few seconds and ended up missing the climax of that. I also think that some of the plot hooks thrown out aren't properly followed up upon (like Tom manipulating Dr Scott to the planet). Still, the high-concept stuff is really good. I like how so far, scifi Torchwood has the dark fantasy deathworlds where Doctor Who never dare to tread.
