Mother Russia - 6/10
I listened to this for no other reason than the fact I love Steven.
I have to say I seemed to enjoy this story more than a lot of other people did but in fairness I always love historically set stories more than most do. The setting of 1812 Russia is definitely an interesting one, the invasion of Russia by the French is something I've vaguely studied before so I got excited purely on the grounds of it being set then, and provided opportunity for some great moments à la the burning of Moscow.
A shapeshifter is always an idea I think deserves more stories in Doctor Who because there are so many possibilities when your villain can be literally anyone or anything.
Peter Purves does an excellent job performing this and did not disappoint at all for me.
The whole story went by pretty quickly in all honesty and didn't leave time to bore me personally.
Overall Mother Russia gets a 6/10 because while I did enjoy this story and its setting it certainly wasn't amazing by any means but once again I have to say Peter Purves is amazing and I love him.
