Slight prequel to the Time Lord Victorious arc but still an overall fun self-contained story.

It is always fun when The Ninth Doctor and Rose are together and Monstrous Beauty is no different. I wasn't sure what to expect reading this given I know how the rest of Time Lord Victorious comes together and if you're looking for it to tie in closely to that multi-medium narrative, you might be little bit disappointed. This story doesn't really add much that the two Time Lord Victorious novels don't already explain and the referencing to the overall TLV plot is pretty much non-existent.

Nonetheless, I had a very enjoyable time reading it. It's a chaotic short story with break-neck pacing. It also has some absolutely incredible, detailed artwork.
