Previous Story: Trial of the Valeyard

Classic Doctors, New Monsters is one of my favourite ranges purely because of how fun it is and this is no exception. The Sixth Doctor and the Judoon is a pairing I didn't know I needed until now. I really like what this story does with the Judoon, unlike the Weeping Angels in Fallen Angels from the same set it actually strives to do something unique with the monster. We follow the case of a Judoon defector in court (somewhere the Doctor's been a lot lately) and it's a perfect way to explore the law-abiding nature of the Judoon. It gives us a really fascinating character in the form of Captain Kybo, a Judoon who has found a passion for poetry. The whole story is enjoyable, a lot of comedic elements but it's not afraid to get genuinely serious or heartfelt. I think what absolutely makes this story is the cast as everyone from the Judge to the sleazy Genesis Corp employee. Just a really good, really fun story and I have no complaints.
