This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order.

Previous Story: Tartarus

I'm usually a fan of timey-wimey stories, but this one just doesn't do it for me. I like the concept of "weaponising" time in this way but it makes the story fairly hard to follow, couple that with the fact that it's only around 50 minutes means this story barely has any time to flesh out the concepts and characters.

Marc was very good in this, I'm used to historical/"savage" companions being a bit more feisty (like Jamie and Leela) so it's definitely interesting to have a more soft-spoken one. It makes some sense with his background as a slave but so far I think it was the wrong choice to put a fairly passive companion with a similarly passive Doctor.

As a companion's first TARDIS trip though it's not bad and I like how quickly Marc catches on, his chemistry with the rest of the TARDIS crew is also pretty good.
