This is a fun one. Granted, the monsters are a bit mid (though their line "Oh, it's you." to the Doctor was great), but the real strength of the play is in the characters and the setting. Unlike Blood of the Daleks, though this setting is similarly flavoured, it was just so much more vivid, which is partially through the fact that the play takes time to introduce it to us and the vibrant sound design. The characters were mostly good, though I don't like how Cribbins' character does a massive U-turn in characterisation in the middle of the play, and were a joy to listen to. Auntie Pat is fantastically realised, and her interactions with Lucie seem real and appropriately uncomfortable. The music was great, though if I never hear a stylophone again I wouldn't mind. Just a fun episode overall.
I do have to note that 8 and Lucie are very friendly in this episode compared to the last (as also pointed out by my friend). That skips over some character development that I would have liked to see, so that's a downside.
