Disliked it the first time (even then I gave it a 3/5 for the ambiance and for the best TARDIS team) and now a year or so after I have loved it. Don't even understand why myself really. It is a story with many layers, obscure references and with wildly different interpretations of the messaging and each character's motivations. I always prefer a complex but messy story than a standard but boring one, and Ghost Light is both of the former. This is truly a hate or love story. It is funny that I've gone from one end of the spectrum to the other in a year though...

With this story getting a bump in the rating Season 26 has become my highest rated season in the show, such a shame it got cancelled and we never got to see what Cartmel and Marc Platt had planned, I guess I should keep reading the Virgin Adventures to get a glimpse to what could have been.
