When Big Finish announced Fugitive of the Daleks, I was not particularly excited. Older Vicki? The Daleks? Sure Big Finish, sure.
However, Fugitive of the Daleks, despite appearances to the contrary, is a resounding success for the range. It captures the feel of 60s Daleks, particularly The Chase in a way that feels almost cozy. But not too cozy, because boy is it an adventure that takes you all over the place. And not only that, it turns its concept completely on its head to deliver a story that feels so authentically 1960s Doctor Who, but with a plot more complex than scripts of the era. The biggest negative would have to be Dodo's lack of presence in it, particularly merely three releases into this new era, but it's so enjoyable I can forgive it.
