This is my favorite of Thirteen’s holiday specials. I am most definitely partial to time loop stories, so that probably helps. All the characters are at their best here, especially with the addition of Aisling Bea to the guest cast. The concurrent love stories happening side by side is an aspect I quite appreciate and surprisingly fits in really well as the B-plot to the more pressing Dalek threat. The fact that this is such a small-scale story does wonders. As a result, it becomes a strong character piece with a well-supported storyline.
