...Eh.
The Doctor's very light-hearted when it comes to Daleks. If I remember correctly, he wasn't like this when he fought them in Genesis, so I'm surprised that he's a bit silly when around them now. However, he does have his serious moments and this story does keep a balance between the two, which works. Poor Leela! Kidnapped, tortured! No wonder she liked pushing a Dalek about when she got the chance! The pair show some great teamwork together and it's awesome that they got to have a story against the Daleks, because these stories are usually when they show their true colours.
I think this is the only Dalek story in the range, which is good because it means that it's always exciting when they show up rarely. I've said this before and I say it again - I don't like Daleks in Big Finish because of their voices. It's such a disappointment that they can't get the voice changer for the Classic Daleks and go for the New Who ones. I don't like that they do that. Their plan was a bit basic, which is good for a two-parter, but it was resolved far too easily. Nice return of the Robomen, though. Both the Daleks and the Robomen are intimidating and it's great that the Daleks' plan basically worked, just in the wrong way.
Coulson had some great development, having to fight his own friend, and eventually coming together one last time - This series has had some really sad B-plots which the stories don't focus on too much. However, I think it was balanced just right to service the plot but not take it over.
I can't really see this in the Fourth Doctor's era, but it's a nice break from four consistent Hinchcliffe-Era stories, and is a decent Dalek story set in the "future". However, like a lot of Season 1, it's nothing special.
