I’m all here for a punchy, if not wholly substantive one shot. My problem with slight stories is when they are stretched over several issues or have to suddenly resolve abruptly. This is a story which reminds you of the world that Gabby comes from, her supporting cast of family and friends, and then gives you a little hook about echoes to push the plot forwards. I’m certain though that if I didn’t feel as fondly of these characters as I do, I’d be rating this lower.
