Review of Doctor vs Doctor by sircarolyn

Though this story isn't terribly deep, it is wonderfully atmospheric and rich in character detail. Nine and Rose leap off the page, and though posh people in a fancy house isn't particularly something that appeals to me, all the side characters here are well rounded and individual. In addition to lovely illustrations, there are some real gems of moments in this.

The plot itself is the Doctor and Rose hunting invisible aliens, and not getting believed by the posh people in the fancy house. Until they start dying, of course. As I say, it's nothing groundbreaking, but there were a few interesting nods to the Doctor's appearance as a 'working class man' (and Rose as a beautiful young woman, but the less said about that the better), and the way that he seems to overstep the percieved postition of his class. Of course, the Doctor doesn't subscribe to things like the English class system, but in a story about posh people in a fancy house, it's the kind of thing I like to see.
