4.5/5 - what a wonderful story! Guy Adams truly knows how to command a page; with creative storytelling, truly imaginative worldbuilding, and an excellent grasp of the motivations of River Song, it's difficult to find fault with this marvellous story. Guy's style of prose was simply delightful, and I'll be sure to look out for more of his stories on my next book haul!

My only note is that I feel it was moving a little fast at times - for example, I think River knew (or rather, revealed) the cause of all the trouble too quickly, and the resolution could have been drawn out a little more. The whole thing was just so well written with such wonderful worldbuilding that it really doesn't bring the story down by more than half a star for me, though! In only a few dozen pages, I still got a feel for the characters, the setting, the format of the diary entries (which, much like the previous story in this anthology, Adams made good use of), and, most importantly, River Song. I feel we so rarely get stories that make proper use of her career, and this one certainly hit the spot! Of course, the theme of capitalistic greed was something I very much devoured as well (I won't say any more, as I've somehow managed to keep this a spoiler-free review so far, and I'd like to keep it that way!)

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable read that I highly recommend for it's imaginative worldbuilding, setting, and use of River's character. This truly was a River Song story - and one worthy of those 4.5 stars!
