Review of Death-Dealer by kawaii2234

Both the Doctor and Leela are written pretty well, though Leela is easily my favourite of the two here, partly because Leela's narrated more confidently than the doctor and her dialogue is faithful to her character. The opening where she apptemts to make sense of coins is perfect, and feels like it was taken directly from her time on the show. In regard to the Doctor, however, I'm more fascinated with his reaction after Leela makes her purchase. With how indifferent he appeared to be about her at times in the show, it's great to have his mask slip away to reveal how devastated and horrified he actually is. You don't often get to see the Fourth Doctor this way, and this moment stands out somewhat as a result. It felt refreshing for him to be in the dark as much as Leela is this time. The audio landscape for this story is also strong. Overall Big Finish are very effective at creating alien bazaars, and this one definitely does not disappoint. I'm glad that we had some time to explore it with the Doctor and Leela, and the main attraction of this story is a pretty cool idea despite not being fleshed out enough in the time it was given.
