I think they were trying to parallel the three main characters (Matka - the aggressive parent fighting for her children’s survival/ Benny - the lost parent who is unsure of her child’s fate/ Otek - the inert parent who cut off his child with the assumption that she had changed beyond his recognition) to the ‘matter/ nothing/ anti-matter’ concepts, with Benny realizing in the end that to NOT be ‘nothing’ she needs to find Peter again, but I don’t think it’s particularly well executed nor do I agree that Benny is ‘nothing’ without her child…
I also think the whole premise of Otek not being able to remove his finger from the switch is just a bit silly.
