Out of all the BBC Audiobook stories from 2008-2017, Dead Media is probably the most Big Finish level story, not only an hour long but is presented as David Tennant narrating the story in character as a message warning the listeners of the dangers that lie in the recording. It was a shock hearing the sound quality at first, something about Tennant's voice sounded a bit off and I've not listened to the other audiobooks to determine if that's by the story's intentional design or if that's just the standard quality of the series. Regardless, Dead Air is a fun and atmospheric tale of the Doctor hunting (or perhaps being hunted) a creature composed of sound on a radio station in the middle of the sea. It throws in some chilling twists that help make the villain so unsettling and helps add to the listening experience of what the Doctor is warning us about. It's a excellent final Tenth Doctor audiobook and final performance from David Tennant before finally bowing out to Matt Smith
