This story started off slow, at least for me, and I wasn’t sure that I was going to like it or the season arc it was introducing. But I was proven wrong by the last twenty or so minutes of the episode, which were packed with mystery, tension, and timely plot reveals. “Day 1” has left me with so many questions, but in an entirely good way. I very much enjoyed it. Also, the scene whereIanto’s trust is betrayed after he was sort of forced to come out to his sister nearly brought me to tears. 4/5.
