Previous Story: A Perfect World
I had to relisten to the first half of this because I kept zoning out. It's a story that hinges on it's comedy and I was really struggling at the start. I'm definitely not a fan of the performances even after relistens. However, once I sat down and forced myself past the rather dull start it was actually fairly enjoyable.
This story is not as funny as it thinks it is and it really suffers from this. Once we get past the mainly historical parts though it becomes much better. I like that this is a subversion of The Time Warrior only instead of Sontarans it's their arch-enemy the Rutans.
The final part was quite rushed although it does set up a cliffhanger so I'm sure the repercussions will be dealt with in the next story. Overall this is a fairly basic story that tries to be a comedy. I'm sure someone will find genuine enjoyment out of this one but due to hammy performances and irritatingly dull humour I just couldn't bring myself to really like this one.
