Telling a small story in the visuals while Jack talks about the monster is the best way to do these I think, this time of a torchwood member falling victim to the trickster's brigade.
I enjoy that it's not made clear what's going on as he plays the game, the Torchwood logo is an old one as well, so even that part isn't made all that clear to the viewers. The use of shadows and the filter really just get the vibe they're communicating across down perfectly. And the ending with the beetle on the man's back fro a split second before he disappears and the candle goes out is great.
The idea that some changes can be so slight that you wouldn't notice as well is an interesting one, Turn Left is a scary episode, but not in the same way as Blink or Silence in the Library, it's not a threat that kids might think could happen to them... but this changes that somewhat, which is great. Bringing an extra sense of real threat to you to the monster.
