Previous Story: Shockwave

I really think this story would have been better had it been the Brigadier's last. Not that I'm upset that he survived, just that it would have been a perfect send-off to the character and you can tell that the story is really built around tahat. Had the show not been cancelled, this would feel like a fitting passing-of-the-torch from old UNIT to new.

The story is incredibly interesting. The way it blends Arthurian legend with typical Doctor Who sci-fi is brilliant and it really gets across the sense that everything is much larger in scale than it seems. For a show that was literally on it's last legs it has a surprising amount of punch to it. The effects, direction, soundtrack, camerawork, etc. are all really impressive.

The 7/Ace dynamic continues to be excellent and Ace in particular gets some really nice stuff here where she gets to bond with a character called Shou Yuing. 7 is way way darker here which McCoy plays excellently. The scene where he couldn't follow through with killing Mordred paralleled the one in The Happiness Patrol in quite a nice way.

Overall, really really good story. This era so far has been the absolute peak of Classic Doctor Who so it's a shame it had to be cut so short.
