I have no awareness of Star Trek whatsoever, but it was fun to see Doctor Who collide with a totally different and well established universe.

It was quite obvious to me that the writers of the second half of the story are more familiar with Star Trek than Doctor Who but it was funny to read The Doctor talking in a different way than usual, Cybermen with a concept of money and Mr and Mrs “Williams”.

My major complaint is how much dialogue there is. Most of the story is characters standing around explaining the plot to each other. All telling and no showing.

But there is a charm to seeing the Cybermen overtaking the Borg and Data taking on energy from the TARDIS. It’s just a bit of wholesome good fun.
