Review of A Day to Yourselves by dema1020

A very solid read overall, imperfect only in that like Meeting Habitas Frond, it's a very simply tale without a whole lot of depth to it.  The Ninth Doctor is out looking for adventure yet keeps finding future incarnations have already solved problems for him, and have instead left him Christmas Cards so their past, traumatized self can begin the long journey of healing a little bit from the wounds of the Time War.

It's good stuff, with a lot of funny and humorous bits.  I quite enjoyed the bureaucrat at the beginning informing the Doctor their world has already been saved, or the cult that followed, but after a while, the fun settings and aborted adventures felt a little less impactful as we spent time with them.  It's good pacing, but there is just little things like the loss of detail for all these creative settings over time that prevent this short story from quite achieving perfection.  Still, it is great and absolutely worth a read.  A very wholesome little tale without ever getting too saccharine for my tastes.
