TARDIS Guide

YKA: Do things like this often happen when you’re travelling with the Doctor?

PERI: You don’t know that half of it. I was even transformed into a bird once.

YKA: Be serious.

PERI: Really. I’ve been on Androgum’s lunch menus, I’ve escaped from ice warriors and tractators, and been in more prison cells than I can count. I nearly got lost on the astral plane. It’s never a peaceful life when you’re with the Doctor.

YKA: Then why do you do it? If it’s so dangerous, why don’t you return home?

PERI: To Baltimore?

YKA: If that’s what it is called.

PERI: I’d be bored, I guess. This is the most exciting time of my life, Yka. Travelling with the Doctor is just, oh, incredible—all these different places, different species, different times. Home could never compete with that. You know, I some times think that I’ll still be travelling with him when I am old and grey. One lifetime just isn’t enough to see the whole universe.

YKA: The Doctor is a good man, isn’t he?

PERI: He’s the best.
